Dr. Diana (Tita) Alvira, from the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History will be presenting on Participatory Methods for Engaging Local Communities in Conservation (Peruvian Amazon). She has worked extensively in project with Amazonian Indigenous communities to help them work with Conservation Agencies in their efforts to develop protected areas within their territories.
Dr. Alvisa is the Social Conservation Program Manager at the Keller Science Action Center at the Field Museum. She received her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Ecology, School of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Florida in 2009.
