Join the Seminoles April 22nd for a special Earth Day “Water Warriors” Celebration like no other! Explore how water is life in the Seminole story with activist Samuel Tommie, discover the ins & outs of canoes with Daniel Tommie and Pedro Zepeda, create water-inspired crafts, and enjoy traditional food sampling along with a classic BBQ. Don’t miss this special program!

Enjoy a special presentation by Seminole artist and conservationist Samuel Tommie. Seminole artisan Pedro Zepeda will demonstrate canoe carving and Museum Management Trainee Daniel Tommie will share information about canoes and how he brings canoes into action at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum. Find out about the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s own public works infrastructure and water maintenance efforts. There will also be water-inspired crafts for all ages. Sample traditional food including garfish and enjoy complimentary hamburgers and hotdogs. The event will take place on the festival grounds across from the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum on the Big Cypress Reservation.
